I wonder how many users would benefit from this. But...

With the current storage-ng coming with Leap 15, GPT is actually used by
default, so it should be sufficient to use the guided setup and just tell it to
use that entire disk, so you will get a new GPT partition table on that disk
and the storage setup that you chose (LVM if you select it).

IMHO this is fixed with Leap 15.
