Hmm, that's interesting. Just by uninstalling qt5ct and restarting the DE, every icon is back as it should be. Thank you very much for the tip! The strange is that I installed qt5ct because of this very bug. So now for me it looks like something regarding this issue got magically fixed in the background which, unfortunately, qt5ct prevented to come into effect.
