ok, that matches what I see in the trace - various TP daemons seem to have
'ended' in a non-controller matter (as is normal durin shutdown/logout, as the
session just sends a TERM to everything).

tp_base_connection_finish_shutdown no longer has a valid connection it can shut
down...

will check with upstream if we can do anything useful about this
