I will push the fix as a workaround for now.

This was reported also by an opensuse user:
kernel-pae-4.9.0-1.1.g8c92422  can't on my i686/VIA C7-D little server.
Tried kernel-pae-4.9-rc8, before but same issue.
kernel-pae-4.8.14-1.1.gab53e9a.i686.rpm works like a charm.
