Just removed connectivity checking from /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf file, so that I have for now, simply: :~> cat /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf [main] plugins=ifcfg-suse,keyfile and the wifi icon has returned to the correct state (after a restart), and :~> nmcli g STATE CONNECTIVITY WIFI-HW WIFI WWAN-HW WWAN connected full enabled enabled enabled enabled
