Yes, evdev was used. It was not by moving the pointer via touchpad (which is
tracked by synaptics on this laptop), but by an external USB mouse.

Nevertheless, somewhen in the last 1 1/2 years this issue was nuked (AFAIR when
13.2 came out), so I'm closing this as FIXED.

I still wonder what had happened here...
