(In reply to Dominique Leuenberger from comment #2) I was not aware that libyui-ncurses is linked against libncurses.so.5 ... I'm pretty sure that is linked with libncursesw.so.6, libpanelw.so.6, and libtinfo.so.6. The question rises if something other had changed with the final ncurses-6 or if libyui-ncurses does use private symbols which the new ncurses-6 does not export anymore.
