I downloaded the installation Leap 42.2 ISO from https://software.opensuse.org/422/en and verified its SHA 256 checksum: $ ls -l insgesamt 4281368 -rw-r--r-- 1 magnus magnus 4384096256 Feb 2 00:44 openSUSE-Leap-42.2-DVD-x86_64.iso -rw-r--r-- 1 magnus magnus 630 Feb 2 00:44 openSUSE-Leap-42.2-DVD-x86_64.iso.sha256 $ sha256sum -c openSUSE-Leap-42.2-DVD-x86_64.iso.sha256 openSUSE-Leap-42.2-DVD-x86_64.iso: OK I wrote the image to a verified and working USB stick with 32 GByte capacity with # dd if=openSUSE-Leap-42.2-DVD-x86_64.iso of=/dev/sdb When booting this image on either a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon, 3rd gen or a Lenovo Thinkpad T460p (bought 2016), the slash screen pops up. Selecting the boot Linux item to start the live CD the kernel boots, but is interrupted by a "Signal 11" message on the lower part of the screen. Please advise how to further debug this issue.
