I have been trying to use cdemu. What I did: zypper in cdemu-daemon cdemu-client gcdemu At first I looked at a systemd service file to start the daemon but rpm -ql cdemu-daemon /usr/bin/cdemu-daemon /usr/lib/cdemu-daemon-session.sh /usr/lib/udev /usr/lib/udev/rules.d /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/60-vhba.rules /usr/share/dbus-1 /usr/share/dbus-1/services /usr/share/dbus-1/services/net.sf.cdemu.CDEmuDaemon.service /usr/share/doc/packages/cdemu-daemon /usr/share/doc/packages/cdemu-daemon/AUTHORS /usr/share/doc/packages/cdemu-daemon/COPYING /usr/share/doc/packages/cdemu-daemon/README /usr/share/man/man8/cdemu-daemon.8.gz /var/adm/fillup-templates/sysconfig.cdemu-daemon showed thats not the way to go. So I ran: cdemu-daemon I got something about /dev/vhba_ctl not available. zypper in vhba-kmp-default solved that. When I run cdemu-daemon now I get: root@maitreya ~ # cdemu-daemon g_regex_unref: assertion 'regex != NULL' failedStarting CDEmu daemon with following parameters: - num devices: 1 - ctl device: /dev/vhba_ctl - audio driver: null - bus type: session Not sure how this is supposed to work but I imagine this should be improved.. I also tried runnging: bash /usr/lib/cdemu-daemon-session.sh Which gave me the same output in ~/.cdemu-daemon.log
