We figured out, that this breaks the Linux console. One would need to add a
generic drm console, which might be just a one-liner
according to Thomas Zimmermann. Unfortunately he couldn't work on this before
his parental leave. He'll be back in April and then will work again on the
remaining issues of simpledrm.
