The applet does direct calls to "qdbus", but the Qt 5 variant of qdbus is "qdbus-qt5". It has to check whether to use qdbus-qt5 or qdbus on startup. As this is a third party applet, we can't fix this in openSUSE. Unfortunately the last update of the applet was three years ago, so it's unlikely that this gets fixed. You might be able to fix it yourself.
