I looked in the wiki of opensuse Tumbleweed how often you should update
tumbleweed or how long you can omit the snapshots in between but found nothing.

opinions differ in various forums.

i wanted to ask what the tumbleweed developers officially recommend as a
guideline.  I use tumbleweed myself, but I'm not sure I always have to update
to the latest snapshot immediately or is it enough if I only update twice a
week.
