I remember the discussion in bug 1110041 and essentially all the arguments pro
and contra still stand.

Options added to get the installation kernel going can't be auto-removed
because
the kernel used during installation is the same that is installed.

If by any change the extra options are no longer needed because the kernel
got updated and fixed or the user uses a different video driver then
the user has to take care themself.

Anyway, this bug was about i915gm specifically and there the answer is comment
