I can see this in the logfile. 340.96 is G03. G04 would be 352.79. G03 failed
because of EDID not been detected. G04 failed due to no support in 352.xx any
longer for this old GPU, then fallback to a different driver and then wrong
components in place for this fallback driver.

Both appears to be fatal for gdm. Whatever. We do have 2 issues here. 

1. G03 not being able to detect monitor's EDID. (possibly a regression)
2. G04 driver being installed for unknown reaons, which then also leads to 
   a fatal failure.
