Hello! This is an old issue that I have seen for many years and it is not resolved yet. I'm experiencing very high CPU when copying big number of files from my backup to the HDD on a newly installed system. I'm talking about 300+ GB data of various types. The issue results in freezing of programs, audio lags when playing music, unresponsive desktop. I don't know exactly what causes this problem but I assume it is something in the kernel because I have this problem since openSUSE 12.1, I've also seen it on all Fedora versions I've used (17-22), tested on both ext4 and XFS on 3 different machines (HP635, HP ProBook 4540s and my current Fujitsu Celsius H710 - all 3 of them with a different hardware).
