I don't think the intention per-se is wrong. You guys just need to evaluate the consequences. I think the RHEL version uses even a different approach for deployment. Just make sure everything is consistent and does not have side effects*. As side effects I mean: If we deploy plugins with salt, we can ensure that they are there, but we can't easily remove them afterwards.
