Would sound like this upstream bug to me: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340549 Possibly related: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339323 I.e. the panel doesn't auto-hide because it is actually placed 1 pixel away from the screen edge because of a bug.
