Disabling the wicked and NetworkManager services do not necessary mean uninstalling them. If there is some pattern that enforces the presence of once of both there will be a conflict that need to be solved. IIRC, we mark them to be removed in case of possible but... have to check. That is one thing, the other thing is the running configuration and the target one. If you configure the network "correctly" using linuxrc you should be able to reach the repositories and install the system, if you want a none backend you should be able to select it in the overview, but if you modify your current network configuration during the installation you are already modifying the current one and you could end without network in order to fetch the repositories and so on... > > Is this a regression, or did it never actually work during installation? To consider it a regression it should work as expected at some point, so, Felix did actually worked previously in the same way you are configuring it now?
