Problem: Sending Smartcard S/Mime email messages fail. With Thunderbird 102.2.2, when sending an email message without a smartcard inserted, the certificate viewer shows all the recipient's public certs, their expiration date, and a tag that says "Valid". Then when a smartcard is inserted, the certificate viewer shows the recipient's certs as "Invalid". The net result is that smartcard encrypted S/Mime messages can't be sent. Note that previously encrypted email traffic can be decrypted successfully with the smartcard, this problem presents only when sending new encrypted traffic. This is a new problem, Thunderbird has been used in this context with smartcards successfully in the past This problem presented after the recent update to 102.2.2.
