It fails when "enable.plymouth=0" too. It did ask me for the password with "single" and allowed me to get back into my system. > Oh and use the latest versions of all packages. Everything is up-to-date with Tumbleweed. If you don't mind, I'm increasing the severity to Critical because this is a fail-to-boot scenario, including the Rescue Mode entries in GRUB.
