Well, beat me with a candlestick.
I just tried on both my TW machines, with several of my repos that used to
hang, and guess what, it works now.
TW is 20230101 by now.

I just tried to clone a repo on a TW virtual machine that is still on 20221229
- and guess what, it hung.
Updating that VM to 20230101, trying the same git clone, and it still hangs.

This is getting kinda weird.

now one of my other TW machines also hangs again on a git pull. without having
anything changed on it, but the other one still works???

Anyway, it hangs even on cloning an empty repo... WHEN it hangs.
