Comment # 1 on bug 916246 from Bob Williams

Yesterday I installed the LockKeysState QML plasma widget. This widget shows
the state of the NumLock and CapsLock keys on screen, which is useful when the
keyboard has no indicator lights. As soon as the widget was installed, the
number keypad started working as it should.
This suggests to me that there is some code in the LockKeysState QML widget
which counteracts the code in KDE4.14.4 which disables the number keypad.
I hope this is helpful in tracking down the cause.
