Martin, Alberto, Felix, Lukas, etc. Half way there:
I tested the July 26 snapshot which includes the change to
suse-module-tools-scriptlets 16.0.48-1.1. I ran tests 1 and 3 above.

Test 3 which is installing with no boot manager selected, it now works as it
did before. Populates /boot and does not modify nvram. AOK!

Test 1 selecting sdboot still does not provide an option to not modify nvram
and mbr. Do you want this issue to remain open until that is fixed, or do you
want me to close this issue and open another for the missing nvram/mbr options
for sdboot installation?
