I tried to setup a clean leap 42.3 iso from usb key, complete fresh install on
this asus m2npv-vm mainboard, with onboard nvidia chipset + gfx
leap 42.3 was installed with active network connection during install,
configured online repositories so it immediately applied the rpm patches and
updates that are current at the moment.
logon screen is fine, I can enter username and password, then it shows suse
lightbulb and circle animation, eventually lightbulb vanishes and black screen
appears with that thing on the upper left corner, thats all, no start menu no
task bar nor clock nor symbols or anything else.
alt+f2 for starting up stuff works/shows up, and I was able to start a Konsole
and firefox.
screen shows artefacts and lose triangles and similar stuff. dragging around
the Konsole and firefox seems somewhat speedy though, so some part of the
graphics layers, drivers, acceleration or however linux graphic stack works,
seems to do its job to some extent I would say as a layman.
