How did this line get into /etc/pam.d/xdm?
When I install pam_mount on a current tumbleweed, I don't see any entry for
pam_mount.so in any of the services.

How did you do this? 
Is there any way to do this using YaST2? I'm not aware of any.

So a line for 'session' and one for 'auth' should be added to /etc/pam.d/xdm -
like 'man 8 pam_mount' describes.
