Comment # 31 on bug 431175 from 
I met this bug���but on SUSE11SP3. I don't know how to fix it.
In my case, it's stop at 
/etc/init.d/xdm,until i mv SuSEfirewall2.booting SuSEfirewall2.booting_bak.
then system continue to start on.Before it ,no one can ping outside,but ping
out  is ok!
