The problem is caused by massive changes in zipl(8) tool, specifically by this commit: https://github.com/ibm-s390-linux/s390-tools/commit/76aaf3d4a8c41185a7e0be99950e86f44b2743d3 which is required to resolve old issues and to implement new features. Unfortunately, the problem is not always reproducible and its appearance depends on many factors. This why it did hit the distro bypassing our internal CI-environment. The fixup is still in our internal development branch. We'll think on how to release it ASAP. Thanks, Eduard.
