Another note on this. I watched the install of 42.2 RC2 more closely. I still saw bogus messages for kaddressbook5. The messages showed up when the last line in the main information panel was: ---> Saving the software manager configuration So this is consistent with it actually downloading repo metadata. There's probably some string that isn't being properly initialized, resulting in a wrong message for the upper progress bar.
