I'd rather pick f2fs patch if we want this fixed rather than calling blkid in grub2-mkconfig as it's future fix from upstream. The other concern is the idea behind grub2-probe is to have the grub utilities less dependent on external commands that helps it running on different systems, basically follow the idea . Thanks.
