Not really. PackageKit can do lots of things. You can explore it using "pkcon"
which is a command line tool to interact with PK daemon.

The main issue of PK is not integrating with zypper very well. So you often
find
that PK is blocking zypper to perform any action. That's something we ought to
improve in the near future.
