News are taking their time currently, I am only near my test hardware on
weekends.

So: yes, timezone configuration works fine, and yes, I should be seing the root
password screen but I am not.

I just did a test, went back to timezone configuration, and then again forward
and directly after the timezone dialog I get to teh root password dialog. All
fine second time.

But the first walkthrough I really get that welcome screen, and then the error
message on top of root password dialog.
