Yeah, as I wrote to Jiri on IRC, this commit changes how page writeback on ext4 is done so it makes sense it has an impact. I'll probably need to investigate what's going on in the guest while it is building... I'll talk to Jiri how he reproduces the issue and how I can get access to the machine...
