Thanks. As expected, the logs show a permissions problem. Finding why that happens in the code gets a bit more complicated. Where did the VBoxSVC.log come from? I could not find that on my machine. What is the output of 'VBoxManage list usbhost'? If that shows nothing, then run 'strace VBoxManage list usbhost >> host_list.txt 2>&1' and post host_list.txt.
