Also, think about how Ubuntu and all their derivatives package not only Chromium, but ALL Internet browsers, including Firefox and Opera: They just offer a big fat Snap package for each one that includes all dependencies, and that can't even handle a user's home directory on any other path than /home (been there, done that, got rid of my last Xubuntu box because of that), because then their sandbox concept is broken. There are many ways to do it, and not all of them make sense; or at least have enough advantages to justify the constant extra work.
