So far, no crashes (I left the machine running all night while I slept, and the
display artefacts have disappeared.

I will now hibernate and restore the machine, this usually causes some stress.

Ok, did so, booted with 1G, opened thunderbird and firefox, machine was
swapping about another gig, alt-tabbed, switched workspaces, and no artifacts,
no crashes.

So this machine should run without drm-kmp-default always? Or a patch is
needed?
