It's a VMware problem, the TSC is unstable on VM. Look at their explanation: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1004384 The workaround mentioned in the above should be applicable to openSUSE, too.
