Indeed, the /var/run -> /run link is not part of the root file system on every installation: On old systems it exists because /var was not a unified directory back then, on new systems the "filesystem" package *may* accidentally create it (this also needs fixing). To avoid differentiating between those cases I'll just copy the files to /var/run for now. @Axel: Could you try again with the current version in my repository?
