https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229244 wstephenson@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |ASSIGNED ------- Comment #1 from wstephenson@novell.com 2007-01-09 02:43 MST ------- We extended kinternet to control kded's offline-mode when it is used to control a modem connection, but not kppp. After the release we worked out how to script kppp so that it controls offline-mode by adding scripts to the Execute tab of an account's settings Basically you need to do "dcop kded networkstatus setNetworkStatus NMNetwork 8" to put KDE online and "dcop kded networkstatus setNetworkStatus NMNetwork 6" to put it offline again. If you run the first command upon connect, and the second script before disconnect, you should get the desired behaviour. However I talked with one user whose setuid root kppp causes problems with the dcop call. He needed to specify the user and dcop session to call on the command line, eg: "dcop --user norbert --session .DCOPserver_linux__0" The correct value for the --session option can be discovered using "dcop --user norbert --list-sessions" HTH - please let me know and I will try to get this added to the documentation. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
