Still no dice, switched to G06 (proprietary) but doesn't seem to have
`x11-video-nvidiaG06` as it does with G05, so my system with Wayland:

But is still usable, so I'm surprised there :D.

Just did a full system upgrade and will reboot and see, will take a look on the
Nvidia open driver on another machine that has a 3090 TI.
