Thanks.  The test was correct, but the necessary change isn't sufficient.
The kernel log shows:

And, it indicates something about ACPI and PCI power stuff.

So, for now, I'm afraid that it's way too intrusive changes necessary for your
touchpad on 4.1.x.  That said, this bug will be likely RESOLVED/UPSTREAM, as
this works with 4.3 and later kernels.

I guess the only (and the biggest) problem for using 4.4 or later kernel is
nvidia stuff.  Is there a nvidia-prime repo for openSUSE Tumbleweed?

The intel_idle driver problem is now checked by Intel people, so it'll be fixed
sooner or later.
