Those icons are controlled by the icontheme that can be defined through
systemsettings. Did you check what icontheme you have actually active ?

Wow, this is solving issues with a big hammer and just keep on banging until it
is fixed :)   As before did you actually ever looked to change the icontheme
defined in the systemsettings ?

Whether or not you find the breeze icons terrible, is not a bug. You can set a
different icontheme through the systemsettings, so you have choices.
