I think it is a wise move, SUSE will Rock, because: As you say, in KDE System Settings > Keyboard there is indeed a section for specifying the Layouts, and for the Compose Key. But - there is nothing checked (not even Right Ctrl), and Shift key is not listed as a choice. It just doesn't jive with what is observed. Further, what is selected in that section is in /addition/ to any SUSE default behaviour, which cannot be turned off. Users might now be able to choose the Compose Key, or disable, in gui. Although, Shift is not listed in the KDE gui. Thank you. For your patience as well. I gave passionate arguments, but it just seemed too weird to ignore.
