On freshly installed openSUSE-Factory I have noticed that root is recieving lot of emails from /etc/cron.daily/mdadm / mdchechk: Subject: Cron <root@daredevil> source /etc/sysconfig/mdadm; [ -n "$MDADM_CHECK_DURATION" -a -x /usr/share/mdadm/mdcheck ] && /usr/share/mdadm/mdcheck --continue --duration "$MDADM_CHECK_DURATION" ... X-Cron-Env: <USER=root> Message-Id: <20141029000001.9EB45207@linux-e66k.site> Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2014 01:00:01 +0100 (CET) ls: cannot access /dev/md?*: No such file or directory Which however does not make much sense since there is and never was any mdraid used at all - perhaps mdcheck should not consider missing /dev/md* as error?
