This is not really a problem. With all weird copy protections it is not always possible to know what is real medium size. The drive should handle access to sectors which do not exist. It is normal that it makes disturbing noises wile seeking. You have shown that it is os-prober that probes the drive causing it to spin up. It does not make much sense for os-prober to probe optical media but that can be said about pretty much everything os-prober does. It is normally not required so you can just remove it. rpm -e os-prober zypper al os-prober
