I created a VM for Linux with virt-manager. It defaults to QXL/spice display. I boot the SUSE installer in it which defaults to graphics on supported hardware. There is a menu option Send Key -> Ctrl+Alt+F9 in the VM viewer. It does not switch to a text console.
