I provided the open-vm-tools dev with a logfile and they answered[1] that the issue has been fixed with open-vm-tools 10.1.x. I would kindly ask for a version bump of the open-vm-tools package. [1] https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/issues/122#issuecomment-275206236
