If not, you can keep it uninstalled. The crash with drm-kmp turned out to be the side-effect of the recent fix for Spectre. It's being tracked down. Right now for testing, please disable KMS via nomodeset option or uninstall drm-kmp-default temporarily to go back to the 4.4.x radeon driver.
