Yes, this happens in the desktop selection menu if you want to call it that. How do I tell it's called that? What other menus did you have in mind? The installer fails mysteriously and there is no error shown. I get to the main (linuxrc?) menu that is outside of the installer. AFAICT save_y2logs is only available while the installer is running so when it crashes rather than stopping with an error message you get no way of collecting logs.
