On my lenovo yoga 2 13" (not pro), I am having an issue with the ideapad_laptop module. This laptop does not have a wifi hardware switch or bios setting to control it's on/off status. When I install any linux distro, the wifi adapter gets hard blocked, as per the rfkill output: 2: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes This cannot be reactivated in Windows using the wifi on/off or lenovo tools, it simply sees the device as switched off. POSSIBLE FIX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not been able to re-enable the wifi using opensuse 13.1 or 13.2. I have only been able to re-enable it using fedora 20, by updating to the latest kernel, then running the command "rfkill unblock all". I believe Fedora have patched their kernel, can this be done in the opensuse kernel? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1021036 I have investigated this issue and it appears to be similar but not identical to other bugs [ https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54361 and https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43007 ]. If all else fails I will attempt this, to modify and rebuild the kernel module: http://askubuntu.com/questions/434547/wireless-hard-block Other than that 13.2 is a blast so far :D
