If the desktop scaling factor is set to eg. 200% using the GNOME settings application, the setting is lost after a reboot. It is always reset to 100%. If the scaling factor is set using the command line as follows, the setting "survives" a reboot: $ gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 2
